Roham Fayazi was born in 1979 on September 25th in Teheran (Iran). Very early he was devoted to painting. At the age of 12 he began to study painting with Puya Aryan Poor (abstract painting) and Mostafa Daschti (landscape painting). Puya Aryan Poor is teaching at the Azad University in Teheran since 1998 and has exhibited his work internationally.

Roham Fayazi deepened his artistic education after school. In 1998 and 1999 he studied with Bahar Behbahani abstract painting. Between 1999 and 2003 he was taught by Ahmad Vakili in the classical academical way. Ahmad Vakili is well-known for his instruction methods.

Roham Fayazi: "Vakili gave me the classical academical education of figurative painting and drawing, and I learned how to communicate with paintings. Certainly, he influenced my work most of all. For some time I have been his assistant." Since 1990 Ahmad Vakili is teaching at the Azad University and at the University of Arts in Teheran. Finally, Roham Fayazi learned from Amin Nazar various print techniques.

In 2003 Roham Fayazi won a scholarship for the Academy of Fine arts in Erevan (Armenia). There he met Sarkis Hamalbashian, who is the most important Armenian artist after the end of the Sowjet Union. In 2005 he was invited to the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome with another scholarship.

Already as young artist, Roham Fayazi attended many exhibitions. In 2003 12 of his paintings were shown in the Kamal Behzad gallery (Teheran) at the group exhibition "A Look on Nature". In the same year some of his prints were shown in the Banafesche gallery (Teheran).

During his scholarship in Rome he participated in other exhibitions, for example at the Vertecchi gallery (group exhibition, spring 2006) and at the Margutta gallery (solo exhibition, October 2006). The solo exhibition with portrait paintings at the Margutta gallery was entitled "La Donna" (The Woman).

Roham Fayazi has various interests. Besides painting and print art he is engaged in film as well. From 1999 to 2003 he worked for the Iranian television (IRIB 1) as assistant for camera, cut and direction. He assisted in particular in political documentaries. Since 2005 Roham Fayazi makes his own short movies.

Since 2006 Roham Fayazi lives and works in Berlin.
