"EARTH TRIP" Abstract Tar Painting & Photography from his Ibiza Studio 2007 & "CITIES" Photos of London, Berlin and Paris

The new series of abstract works from the Geneva artist Taylor is named EARTH TRIP, where he combines his photography with paintings made of tar, bitumen and industrial house paint into collages. In 2007 the 40 year old British Swiss worked on these collages in his studio on Ibiza, where he mixed sand and saltwater from the coast with tar and industrial house paint.

Dominic Taylor has been creating remarkable works of art in Geneva for the past 20 years. Known in Geneva simply as Taylor, the established artist has freighted back his sand, saltwater, tar and house paint abstract works from his idyllic studio on Ibiza.

Taylor typically likes to closely examine his chosen subject - usually one of "life, movement and energy" and present it to us in unexpected colours, shapes and evocative textures such as thick lumps of tar sponged together with industrial paint.

To complete this insight into Taylor's latest artworks and artistic projects internationally, we must name as well BRL (Berlin), LDN (London), and PRS (Paris) from the series CITIES. From the industrial pipes of Berlin and London to the glossy architectural feats on Potsdamer Platz and 30 St Mary Axe / "The Gherkin" tower, Taylor mixes in his collages the rough with the polished.

Using his rapid shot technique of photography, he uses up a whole roll of film just for one outdoor sculpture, one single mural, the sides of buildings, parts of The Wall, construction pipes and various forms of architecture. He then reworks his photos into a surprising collage to show us Berlin as we've never seen it before.
