The artist, whose works have been shown together with the art of some of the most important contemporary artists like Baselitz, Immendorff, Lüpertz, Tàpies, Trockel, Uecker et al. at other exhibitions, surprises with his impressive objects.

Since his last work shows at the Art Karlsruhe 2004 and the Holland Art Fair Den Haag 2005, Cames has been working in his favoured privacy. This has also led him to the isolation of a monastery where he found perfect working conditions. Cames spent almost two years to perfect his self-developed techniques and he found new ways for the transformation of his ideas gained by this time of isolation.

His new works are full of secrets. He brings paper, glass and even lead metal to rust. The objects seem to be filled by an inner life and changing light reflections give a nearly magical effect to them. The paradox is an essential aspect within his works. Paradoxes are part of the methods of the ZEN philosophy; they help to approximate the fundamentals of everything essential. And this philosophy is the basic of Cames's theoretical consideration of art.

Born in 1953, Cames has been working as a freelance artist for 25 years. Other professions and activities as a lithograph, illustrator, art director and assistant professor formed the basis for his wide expert knowledge. Also the experiences made during his numerous journeys and particularly the intensive contact with the Japanese culture influenced his producing.

The works of Cames do not follow any art trend, but they mark something completely independent - something autonomous with a charismatic effect you can hardly ignore.
